Some names truly reflect the people who carry them. In Bengali, the name “Susmita” means “the girl with the beautiful smile.” After meeting Susmita Poudel at WordCamp Nepal 2026, I realized that the meaning fits her perfectly. She was polite, friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to. That warm first impression made our short conversation even more memorable.
Susmita is a Senior UI/UX Designer at Omnisphere Technologies with more than six years of experience creating user-centered digital experiences. She is passionate about designing products that put people first and turning ideas into simple, engaging, and accessible experiences.
Before joining Omnisphere Technologies, she worked at Golyan Group and Genese Solution. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at Kantipur College of Management and Information Technology. Her expertise includes UI/UX design, WordPress, Figma, prototyping, wireframing, print design, product branding, team leadership, and mentorship.
Beyond her professional work, Susmita is a familiar face in Nepal’s WordPress community. She regularly volunteers and helps organize WordCamps, leads Contributor Day tables, and encourages more people to contribute to the open-source community. Her contributions also extend beyond Nepal. She served as one of the organizers of the Design Team for WordCamp Asia 2026, demonstrating her dedication to the Global WordPress community.
Her passion for learning and supporting others goes beyond WordPress. She attended the AWS Women Summit Nepal 2025 on International Women’s Day and served as one of the mentors for IDEATHON, organized in celebration of Girls in ICT Day. These activities reflect her commitment to encouraging diversity, learning, and inspiring the next generation of technology professionals.
What impressed me most was not only her design skills and community leadership but also her genuine kindness. She has a positive personality, enjoys meeting new people, and is always willing to help others. Whether she is designing better user experiences, mentoring aspiring designers, or contributing to open source, Susmita reflects the welcoming and collaborative spirit that makes the WordPress community so special.
Meeting Susmita Poudel at WordCamp Nepal 2026 reminded me that strong communities are built by kind, helpful, and approachable people. Susmita is definitely one of them.
